Thomas Rowlett, 83, passed peacefully on July 4, 2024, when God took him to his heavenly home, after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s and other major illnesses at his home in Castle Rock, CO, with his wife and daughter by his side.
Born June 2, 1941 to Frank Byron Rowlett and Edith Irene King Rowlett, Tom grew up in Arlington, Virginia and graduated from Wakefield High School, Class of 1959. He later attended Virginia Tech. His journey led him to work for the NSA in their printing department, and later computer programming with companies such as Genasys and the Department of Energy in telecommunications and cyber security.
In his personal life, Tom cherished time with family and friends, finding joy in golfing, woodworking, and computer programming. He was honored to have received MISGA’s green jacket in 2019. He was highly motivated and used creative problem-solving to remove barriers. He was known for his humor and quick wit.
Tom Rowlett is survived by his wife of 49 years, Shari Rowlett, his son and daughter-in-law Jonathan M. Rowlett and Stella C. Rowlett, his daughter Pamela A. Rowlett, and granddaughter Lilith C. Rowlett who mourn his loss deeply. They will forever hold Tom close in their hearts.
Tom's presence in our lives brought warmth and inspiration. His memory will continue to live on through the love and fond memories shared by all who knew him.
Rest in peace, Tom. You will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
