Michael A Melchior

Michael “Mike” Melchior, 83, passed away at his home in Penrose, May 12, 2023.  He was born April 26, 1940 to Joseph and Rosa (Byrne) Melchior in Longmont, Colorado.

Mike married Karla Shafer February 1, 1994 in Las Vegas and celebrated their 29th wedding anniversary this year.

Mike was a Tool and Die Maker by trade and later owned and operated Advanced Auto Body for many years before his retirement.

When he wasn’t working, Mike loved the beautiful outdoors of Colorado and spent years fishing, hunting and camping.  He and Karla travelled frequently and spent many years going to Quartzsite, Arizona.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory, his Son Mike Melchior, Daughter Michelle (Melchior) and Steve Shaw and Sisters Velma and Margaret.

Grand Children Ashley, Kimberly, Alicia, Morgan, Jordon, Kayla, Torie Jo, Nichole, Bryon, Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Rosa, Siblings Pete, Rosie Simons, David, Raymond and Joe.

A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, May 26, 2023 at the Steeple Event Center, 701 Macon Ave., Canon City, CO with a reception to follow.  Online condolences at www.harwoodfunerals.com.
