Donald Regis Newell Jr.

Donald Regis Newell Jr, 54, of Blairsville, Pennsylvania passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024. Donald was born November 7, 1969 at Latrobe Area Hospital to Donald Regis Newell Sr. & Loretta Jean (Murphy) Newell. He was the youngest of five siblings and grew up outside of Derry in the village of Seger were he spent most of his youth terrorizing his sisters and playing sports with cousins and other neighborhood kids. He graduated from the Blairsville First Assembly Of God Christian School, Class of 1988. Donald was an extraordinarily hard worker that no matter the circumstances he was on the job. 

Donald was preceeded in death by his parents Donald Regis Newell Sr. and Loretta Jean Newell and a brother-in-law Michael C. Platt. He is survived by his wife Kelly A. (Platt) Newell, three children, Donald R. Newell III of Blairsville, Nicole A. McGuire (Zachary) of Blairsville, Vincent D. Arcurio (Lara) of Jeanette; four grandchildren, Adalynn, Gianna, Bentley and Maverick. Four sisters, Lou Jean Newell (Kathy Bowden) of Latrobe, Dawn Specht (Daniel) of Derry, Rhonda Libengood (Jerry) of Blairsville, Nancy Platt (Michael) of Blairsville a niece Jennifer Harpster (Edward) of Latrobe and several other niece's and nephews and great niece's and nephews. 

In keeping with Donald's wishes a private memorial will be held at Coles Cemetery on a later date. A very special thank you to Coastal Drilling INC. for their unwavering generosity and support during this time.
