Dennis Woodrow Batt, who was born on May 18, 1936, in Amarillo, Texas, and passed away on April 14, 2026, in Castle Rock, Colorado, lived a life marked by faith, service, creativity, and devotion to family. He was the son of Dennis W. Batt and Grace Perry, and he carried with him the values of hard work, Christian conviction, and perseverance throughout his life. Those who knew him remember him as a creative man whose steady presence and generous spirit reflected the faith he professed.
He attended Bible College and answered the call to ministry as an ordained minister. His service in the church included work with the Assemblies of God and the Church of God, Cleveland, Tennessee affiliation. For many years, he traveled wherever he was needed, planting churches and filling in as pastor with humility and dedication. He served with a shepherd’s heart, offering encouragement, guidance, and the message of Christ to many people and communities. His ministry was not limited to a pulpit, because he lived his faith in the way he treated others and in the example he set through his daily life.
In 1963, he married Evelyn Enix, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and commitment. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Evelyn, as well as by his parents and his siblings Edward, Mollie, Doris, and Thomas. Their memory remained an important part of his life, and he carried the love of family with him always. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he valued the blessing of family relationships deeply.
He is survived by his sons, Jonathan Batt and Anthony (Ronda) Batt. He also leaves behind his grandsons Robbie, Ryan, and Dylan, along with his great-granddaughter Aliya. His family brought him joy, and he took great pride in them. The legacy he leaves behind is not only one of ministry and work, but also one of love, encouragement, and steadfast faith that touched generations.
After years in ministry, he entered a second career in business and owned a company that remodeled hotels and office buildings. Even in this work, he brought creativity and diligence to every project. He approached his responsibilities with the same care and integrity that characterized his life in ministry. Whether he was building up churches, helping people in need, or improving spaces through his business, he demonstrated a remarkable ability to see possibility and bring it to life.
He also enjoyed gardening, a pastime that reflected both patience and care. In tending the earth, he found a quiet and meaningful way to appreciate God’s creation. His life was shaped by the Christian faith he held dear, and he sought to live in a manner that honored the Lord. His creative nature was evident in many ways, and those closest to him saw in him a man who could build, nurture, and inspire.
Dennis Woodrow Batt will be remembered as a faithful servant of God, a loving family man, and a creative spirit who used his gifts in service to others. His life was a testimony to the goodness of God, the importance of calling, and the strength found in Christian devotion. Though he has departed this earthly life, the memory of his faithfulness, kindness, and hard work will continue to bless those who knew and loved him. May he rest in the peace of Christ, and may his family find comfort in the hope of eternal life.
